Animated Advertisement: How to Animate in Adobe Creative Suite Software
Successful companies employ animation videos to create a “buzz” in the viewers that drives them to the advertised websites. These kinds of videos are a great way to show off the company’s style and branding. The company or advertising agency will post the videos on social media sites, place the video as an introduction to their website, or sometimes the animation, or a still from the video, is sent in a promotional email.
One of the first steps in producing animation videos like these is to design and create an eye-catching animation of the company’s logo. One tried and true advertising concept is to show a common everyday problem, demonstrate a quick and easy solution to the problem using what is offered by the the company, and then closing with contact information about the various divisions of the organization. Ideally the company’s branding should emphasize how the company’s products or procedures will benefit the viewer.
These animations can run anywhere from 10 – 30 seconds, or from 60 – 90 seconds depending on the content. Most do not run longer than a minute and a half because it is possible to lose audience attention. Short and informative is best. Less is more. Humor is always encouraged as it keeps the audience’s attention … and helps audience retention.
I used Adobe Flash to animate this video for the client. They wanted a very simple style, asking for a plain background during the whole animation. To make animation videos like this, it usually takes about three days to complete.
