Fully recorded Animated Process: “The Normies: Careful Campers episode 6”
It took about 2.5 hours to animate this cartoon once all the elements are in place. As you create a cartoon series, you can reuse elements and speed up the animation process.
An introductory illustration was made to start the show and the basic scenes were set up on the layers seen below in the timeline.
The next scene had the two characters driving in a car to the camping spot.
Place the character(s) below the car layer.
Make a BG (background) layer of a road or scenic view.
Animate the character(s) in their own layer.
Animate images passing by, and move the BG to fit the scene. Move the BG closer, left, right, or back to match the cars direction.
Add bumps in the road if you’d like…In this example, I copied and pasted the bump movement to repeat.
The backpack was added onto the characters…
You can always test the animation by hitting CONTROL+ENTER
The night camping scene was set …
The tent and background were rasterized photos.
Lighting was set …
The campers scene was drawn …
I use a WACOM CINTIQ to draw the images.
Under the FILTER settings, I changed the lighting to fit a night time feel.
FILTERS were used to shadow the characters and add shadows. You can also darken, brighten etc. under:
Move the tab darken or lighten.
TO ADD AUDIO:
Make a new layer. Import audio into the library. Drag the audio onto the timeline with the new layer selected.
You can edit audio by selecting the pencil, seen in the right corner of the image below.
You can edit how loud the audio is or you can clip the audio. if you want to edit the audio in more detail, it’s best to use another program. You can update the audio but right clicking on the audio in the library and selecting UPDATE.
