Animations for video presentations are an excellent way for companies to explain concepts to their employees. Companies show cartoons and/or videos that summarize their agenda for the company as a whole, or showcase upcoming events, products, or concepts. The videos are viewed in offices, large event theaters, or simply viewed online. Some companies have employees who speak different languages and video animations can help explain concepts and break through language barriers.

The client asked me to create a “red alien,” and sent me the script and audio. When I start a project, I send 2-5 sketches of the main character for the client to review. After the character is chosen, I ink and color the character in the animation software.

When creating animations for video it is important to ask the clients what resolution (size of the video) they want and how the video will be played. If the client does not know the resolution, ask them what the largest device will be used at the event/meeting.

You can see resolution sizes listed below:

720p = 1280 x 720 – is usually known as HD or “HD Ready” resolution

1080p = 1920 x 1080 – is usually known as FHD or “Full HD” resolution

1440p = 2560 x 1440 – commonly known as QHD or Quad HD resolution, and typically seen on gaming monitors and on high-end smartphones. 1440p is four times the resolution of 720p HD or “HD ready”.

2160p = 3840 x 2160 – commonly known as 4K, UHD, or Ultra HD resolution. It’s a very large display resolution and it’s found on high-end TVs and monitors. 2160p is called 4K because it offers four times the resolution of 1080p FHD or “Full HD”.

4320p = 7680 x 4320 – is known as 8K and it offers 16 times more pixels than the regular 1080p FHD or “Full HD” resolution.

Find the size above that matches the device/projector the client will use. To be safe, it is good to make a few resolution sizes for the client so that they are prepared for any future event.
