Adobe Animate Tutorial: HeadBangers
Adobe Animate Tutorial: Animation Movies: HeadBangers
This video shows how the “HEADBANGER” video was created. Each part of the characters are inked, colored, and then each body part was placed in its own layer and made into a symbol. Pivot points were set correctly where the joints would move. The characters are animated in their own symbol and then moved across the stage on the timeline.
Each SYMBOL can animate in its own animation.
Symbols (head, body, arms) can be grouped (select all the symbols of the character, and then create a symbol of them as a whole) and animations can be done in each symbol. DOUBLE CLICK a symbol and you will be in the symbols “area,” (see below.) The arm symbol had the frames extended and keyframes were made to make the arm move back and forth.
DOUBLE CLICK off the object to get “go back” to the whole body symbol. The guy is keyframed to move up and down.
DOUBLE CLICK off of any objects again to get to the main timeline.
When a SYMBOL is animated, it is turned into a MOVIE CLIP.
On the main timeline, you can see the guy was animated to move and then fall.
The girl character was worked on in the same fashion as the guy.
The arms were copied from the guy and then the colors were changed.
With movie clips, they play the length on the symbols animation. It is best to loop the symbols, or keep the frames the same length as the frame on the timeline. The timing will be offset if you do this wrong.
So Don’t Do It
You’ve been warned. Animation police are everywhere.
